Legal Cashier – Hybrid Working

About the role
An established East Sussex law firm is looking for an experienced Legal Cashier to join it’s friendly finance team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the smooth running of the accounts department, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and in accordance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and internal procedures.
Responsibilities will include:

• Completing client and business bank reconciliations
• Dealing with out-of-date cheques
• Monitoring electronic payments, including CHAPS, BACS and Faster Payments
• Checking completions and setting up CHAPS and other electronic transactions
• Arranging foreign payments when required
• Identifying, allocating and posting incoming electronic and manual receipts
• Banking client and business account receipts
• Calculating and applying client interest

What we are looking for
The successful Legal Cashier will be accurate, organised and comfortable working as part of a close-knit team.
They will need:

• At least 3 years’ Legal Cashier experience, specifically on the client side
• Up-to-date knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisational skills
• A positive and collaborative approach
