About the role

An established, friendly legal practice with three local offices is looking to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to lead its finance function. Reporting directly to the Managing Partner, this is an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional who enjoys balancing strategic financial leadership with day-to-day operational involvement.

What we are looking for
The successful Finance Manager will:

• Be a qualified accountant.
• Have proven experience working within a legal environment.
• Possess strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules and legal cashiering.
• Have experience managing client account monies.
• Be confident producing financial reports and providing strategic financial guidance.
• Enjoy a hands-on approach and be willing to get involved in the day-to-day finance function.
• Have previous people management experience, overseeing a full-time and part-time team member.
• Be happy to undertake occasional travel between the firm’s local offices.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the finance department.
• Ensuring full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules.
• Managing legal cashiering processes.
• Producing financial management reports.
• Supporting the Managing Partner with financial planning and strategic decision-making.
• Managing and developing the finance team.
