Payroll Administrator – 4 Days a Week

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a friendly and established accountancy firm.

Working as part of a small payroll team, the successful candidate will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of client payrolls, managing the process from start to finish and acting as a trusted point of contact for payroll queries.

About the role

The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for approximately 90 payrolls per month, working with a range of small to medium sized businesses. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing client payrolls from start to finish
  • Processing weekly/monthly payroll information accurately and efficiently
  • Managing starters, leavers and changes to employee details
  • Processing pension requirements
  • Dealing confidently with client and employee payroll queries
  • Preparing and submitting relevant reports to HMRC
  • Ensuring payroll deadlines are consistently met
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records
  • Working closely with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
  • Using BrightPay, including its cloud-based platform

What we are looking for
This role would suit an experienced and confident Payroll Administrator who enjoys taking responsibility for their work and communicating directly with clients.
The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Strong previous payroll experience – ideally gained from Practice but candidates with relevant experience from Industry with also be considered. 
  • Confidence managing payrolls from beginning to end
  • Good knowledge of payroll processes, pensions and HMRC requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence dealing directly with clients and resolving queries
  • The ability to manage multiple payrolls and deadlines
  • A confident personality and the ability to work effectively as part of a small team

Previous experience within an accountancy practice would be particularly beneficial. However, candidates from an industry payroll background may also be considered, particularly if they have gained experience within a larger organisation.
