About the Opportunity
An ambitious, progressive manufacturer is looking for a Workshop Assistant to strengthen its growing production team.
 
 
The Workshop Assistant role will be involved in the manufacture and preparation of a varied range of structural products for domestic and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities
The Workshop Assistant will be responsible for duties including:

• Cutting materials to the required measurements
• Accurately measuring materials using a tape measure
• Carrying and handling heavier materials
• Bolting and screwing components together
• Assembling finished products
• Strapping and wrapping products ready for dispatch
• Supporting colleagues across the workshop as required
• Adapting to different products and production requirements

The successful Workshop Assistant will need:

• Good basic numerical skills
• Confidence reading and using a tape measure
• A practical, hands-on approach
• A willingness to learn and adapt
• A positive and grounded attitude
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team
• The capability to undertake physical work, including handling heavier materials

Previous experience within any of the following would be advantageous:

• Carpentry or joinery
• Workshop environments
• Manufacturing
• Production
• Assembly
• Practical or hands-on roles

A carpentry background could transfer particularly well into this position.
