About the Opportunity
An ambitious, progressive manufacturer is looking for a Workshop Assistant to strengthen its growing production team.
The Workshop Assistant role will be involved in the manufacture and preparation of a varied range of structural products for domestic and commercial buildings.
Key Responsibilities
The Workshop Assistant will be responsible for duties including:
- Cutting materials to the required measurements
- Accurately measuring materials using a tape measure
- Carrying and handling heavier materials
- Bolting and screwing components together
- Assembling finished products
- Strapping and wrapping products ready for dispatch
- Supporting colleagues across the workshop as required
- Adapting to different products and production requirements
The successful Workshop Assistant will need:
- Good basic numerical skills
- Confidence reading and using a tape measure
- A practical, hands-on approach
- A willingness to learn and adapt
- A positive and grounded attitude
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- The capability to undertake physical work, including handling heavier materials
Previous experience within any of the following would be advantageous:
- Carpentry or joinery
- Workshop environments
- Manufacturing
- Production
- Assembly
- Practical or hands-on roles
A carpentry background could transfer particularly well into this position.

About the Role
An immediate opportunity is available for a proactive and organised HR Assistant / Operations Administrator is needed to join a business in Bodiam. This is a varied, hands-on role providing administrative support across recruitment, HR, compliance and operations within a busy independent school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support recruitment, onboarding, contracts, personnel records and employee lifecycle administration.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with employment legislation, safeguarding and data protection requirements.
- Assist with payroll administration, staff absence monitoring and training records..
- Support contract administration, supplier records and general business administration.
- Assist with health and safety, safeguarding and policy administration.
- Produce reports, correspondence and maintain confidential records.
- Support the continuous improvement of HR and operational processes and undertake other duties as required.
Working Arrangements
- Full-time, on-site role based in Bodiam.
- Due to the location, a driving licence and access to a car is highly recommended.
